Keeping your Practice Web Site up to date is vital particularly during these extremely difficult times. It continues to surprise me that Practices do not use their web site to the full by providing links to the various services online they offer and links to useful national web sites. The most striking omission is an email address.

Ideally your web site should mirror the information shown in your Practice Leaflet. It should contain up to date information about the doctors and nurses working in the Practice. What is their availability? When is the surgery open and what happens when it is closed.

My advice would be to take a look at say ten web sites for Practices either in your area or that you know and see what has been included. Most web site providers are very helpful when it comes to improving your web site. Clarity and simplicity are the key words. It is important to check that the links on your site actually work.

It might be worthwhile doing a simply survey amongst your patients and ask which method of contact with the surgery are they likely to use. Do they for instance use Twitter of Facebook. Do they have an email address and what is their up to date mobile telephone number.
